Standard Tournament Rules - Amended & Replaced

The follow rules apply to ALL tournaments at Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz unless otherwise stated.
GENERAL RULES OF PLAY

NOTICE:
THE BELOW STANDARD TOURNAMENT RULES VERSION 2 HAS BEEN MODIFIED, AMENDED AND REPLACED IN FULL BY VERSION 3 PURSUANT TO OUR RIGHT TO MODIFY, AMEND AND REPLACE AS SET FORTH WITHIN VERSION 2 BELOW.
  • A "Tournament" is a contest in which all players start with an equal amount of chips and continue to play until one player remains and accumulates all the chips. (Blinds/antes are raised consistently throughout the tournament.)

  • All Tournaments are freeze-outs (no re-buys).

  • One-table Tournaments will begin within seconds after all Players are seated.

  • Multiple-table Tournaments will have set starting times (and players must Register at least one-hour in advance to play).

  • The Player who draws the high-card will start with the button in Hold'em and Omaha games prior to the start of the Tournament. In case two Players get the same high-card, the suit preference of spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs will determine who starts with the button.

  • Tournaments will continue until one Player wins all the chips.

  • When a Player loses all his/her chips, they are eliminated from play.

  • In "Limit Tournaments" (Limit tournaments are those which have a prescribed amount of betting at each level.), one bet and three raises are permitted. When only two Players remain, there is no limit on raises.

  • Players are obligated to take their "Blinds". (A "blind" is a fixed amount of money, determined by the size of the game, that is put into the pot in Hold'em and Omaha games prior to the dealing of the hand. The purpose of the blinds are to initiate action.)

  • It will be possible for a hand to have only one blind - the "Big Blind", with no "Small Blind". The Small Blind is the lesser of the two blinds. The Small Blind is placed into the pot by the player immediately to the left of the dealer button.

  • Players may inherit the button for more than one hand (the "Dead Button"). This is necessary to ensure all Players take their Blinds.

  • If two or more Players are eliminated on the same hand, the Player(s) who started the hand with the most money will get the higher finishing position. If they begin the hand with the same amount of money, they will equally divide any prize money due them.

  • When two Players remain, the Player due to assume the Big Blind will do so, and the Small Blind will inherit the button. The Small Blind or button will act first prior to the flop and second after the flop.

  • There are no breaks during Single-table Tournaments. In Multiple-table tournaments, a 10 minute break is taken every hour.

  • Tournaments continue until there is a winner. If a Player needs to be away from the table, he or she should click on the "Autopost and Fold" button located on the left side of the screen as a courtesy to the other Players.

  • The prize payoffs will be exactly according to the Payout Schedule (the "Payoff Structure") and there are NO deals.

  • Poker etiquette ("Etiquette") is expected from all Players. Those abusing proper etiquette may be asked by Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz Personnel to leave the Tournament and/or to stop playing at Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz

  • There should be no soft-playing during Tournaments. Soft playing is to not bet your hand to the fullest extent when playing against someone (usually friends and/or family). It goes against the spirit of the game and is considered cheating in some instances.

  • Players who do not act on their hand in time ("Time Out") will be Folded.

  • Players who are disconnected while playing a pot will be deemed all-in for that pot.

  • If for any reason a Player loses his/her connection, play will continue. In Tournament play, blinds and antes will continue to be posted automatically. Please log back on as soon as possible and continue play.

  • Players will be blinded/anteed out of the Tournament if they do not reconnect.

  • Players MUST accept the risk of disconnection. They can and do occur.

  • At no time will Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz assume responsibility for disconnected players in Tournaments - regardless of cause.

  • Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz reserves the right to alter the rules and render final decisions on all matters herein at its sole discretion. Rule changes and relevant decisions will be communicated accordingly via Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz via electronic and/or written means.

DISCONNECTION POLICY
  • If for any reason a player loses his/her connection, play will continue. Blinds and antes will continue to be posted automatically. A Player should log back on as soon as possible to continue play.

  • Players will be blinded/anteed out of the tournament if they do not reconnect.

  • Players MUST accept the risk of disconnection. They can and do occur. (Log back on and continue play as quickly as possible.) To limit the potential of disconnection, please consult with your ISP as to what measures can be initiated to help reduce this risk. At no time will Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz assume responsibility for disconnected players regardless of cause.

  • If a Player is disconnected during the play of a hand, they will be deemed "All-in" (and can win whatever is in the pot at the time of the disconnect).

  • If a Player is disconnected while playing and uses their All-ins, The Player should reset their All-ins upon their return (or the Player will be automatically Folded the next time, rather than deemed to be All-in).

  • Players are allowed two All-ins per Tournament due to a disconnection problem.

  • A Player may request for an All-in reset by using any of the following two methods:
      1) Go to Lobby --> Click on 'Options' --> Click on 'Request All-ins Reset'.
      2) While at the table, click on the 'Dealer's Chip Tray' to get the options.
One of the options is 'All-in reset'. Just click it to send an All-in reset request to us.

  • On the successful resetting of a Player's All-in count, the Player will receive a confirmation.

  • Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz reserves the right to alter this policy and render final decisions on all matters herein at its sole discretion. Policy changes and relevant decisions will be communicated accordingly via Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz via electronic and/or written means.

ALL-IN MISUSE POLICY
  • Our software is designed to detect whether a Player had a genuine disconnection before giving the All-in protection to him. If a Player tries to get All-in protection by simply not acting on his/her turn and getting "timed out", he/she is deemed 'Folded'.

  • All-in resets are allowed twice in any 24 hours period. This means that before Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz successfully processes a Player's All-in reset request, we will determine whether the Player has reset their All-ins more than once in the past 24 hours. If the Player has, Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz will not reset the All-ins automatically. (Please contact us.)

  • There is a limit of 10 All-in resets within a 7 days period.

  • Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz strives to offer the best All-in protection to our Players. Out goal is to protect Players who are accidentally disconnected, while also maintaining appropriate checks so that the protection might not be misused.

  • Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz reserves the right to render final decisions on all matters herein at its sole discretion. Decisions will be communicated accordingly via Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz via electronic and/or written means.

MISCELLANEOUS
  • Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz reserves the right cancel or reschedule Tournaments at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.

  • If a Tournament is cancelled due to technical issues, any Player who was eliminated prior to this time will lose their buy-in and entry fee. The remaining Players will be refunded their Buy-ins and Entry fees and will equally divide up the Buy-in monies from the Players already eliminated, regardless of the chip standing when the tournament was halted

Such amendments will become effective immediately upon being listed under the “Tournament Rules” section of the Texas-Hold-em-poker.biz website.
